Gary S. Farmer
Gary Farmer, President of Heritage Title Company of Austin, has been in the title insurance industry since 1985. Gary became president of Heritage Title Company in 1987 and has successfully guided the company through both depressed and robust periods of the Texas real estate economy. Gary has assembled and retained the finest staff of title professionals available in Central Texas. This, he believes, is the true secret to the recognized success of Heritage.
Gary continues to be active in the Austin community. Currently, Gary serves as Chairman of the Greater Austin Economic Development Corporation, Chairman of Opportunity Austin 2.0, Vice-Chairman of Economic Development for the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, Advisory Board of Directors at JPMorgan Chase Bank, Board of Children's Medical Center Foundation of Central Texas, Executive Board of The Real Estate Council of Austin, Executive Board of the Trust for Public Lands, Executive Board of Capital Area Transportation Coalition, Board of Governors of Austin Community Foundation, Board of Directors of the National Multi Family Council, Executive Board of Boy Scouts of America, Capital Area Council.
Past service includes a term as President of RECA, Chairman of Capital Area Transportation Corporation, two terms as Chairman of Caritas Board of Advisors, Chairman of Advantage Austin III, Chairman of Opportunity Austin, Honorary Chairman of Austin Fine Arts Festival, Co-Chair of Alexis de Tocqueville Society of United Way, Mayor's Taskforce on Economic Development, Travis County Healthcare Options Task Force and numerous other boards.
Gary has been honored for his business success. In 2006, the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce named Gary "Austinite of the Year", and The Real Estate Council named its highest award as "The Gary S. Farmer Commendation of Excellence Award". In 2005, the Austin Business Journal honored Gary with the W. Neal Kocurek Real Estate Lifetime Achievement Award. In 1998, Gary was awarded the Sam Walton Business Leader Award by the Greater Austin Chamber. In 1994, Gary was honored by the Texas Land Title Association with the Outstanding Young Title Person Award.
